People often believe that great musicians are born and not made.
Do you agree that we are born with much of our ability or are there other factors such as family and environment, that determine success?
Nature versus nurture is an ongoing controversial debate from decades. Whether some people who are famous, for instance great musicians, are born with possessed talents or they achieved that position with their determination and hard-work. Undoubtedly, many great artists, musicians belong to the families who have the same skills they possess, which make us believe that talents are innate. Contrarily, there are many examples who have achieved their positions with their caliber, firm determination, patience and continuous practice.
In my opinion each of us are born with multitude of talents. Those who realize them, can be benefited but who don't, lacks those skills. Even though, someone is talented, they need to be nurtured to reach to their full potential. It is essential that our parents and others should recognize our talents and give us proper environment, guidance to be able to enhance ourselves to that potential. People whom we label as "talented" are privileged enough to get these opportunities while growing up, that is why their skills are prominent and they are successful.
Additionally, hard-work and determination can not be ignored in building a successful personality. Regardless of being innate or not, if someone possess these two things, will definitely grow in life. Many musicians spends hours in practicing, sacrificed numerous comforts to achieve the position they have. Best example is a great musician Beethoven, who was almost deaf. Despite of being deaf, his determination and never giving-up attitude made him a great musician in history.
To summarize, I believe that nature and nurture go hand in hand and its the responsibility of the parents to recognize their children's qualities and nourish them to reach to that potential where they can utilize them to be great or successful.
